When will ships cruise the world again

Forget about 2021, no round the world cruises will set off this year. 2022 is not looking too good either. A lot of lines might say yes, we are going, but the reality is they do not want to commit themselves. It is a straightforward logistical problem for them, where would they sail to?

Australia and New Zealand are shut for outside business, visitors are not allowed. That means a ship would be at sea without a popular port of call for well over three weeks, even supposing that there would be anywhere in the Far East ready to receive. Cruise management have been pragmatic, realising it is pointless to even think about scheduling one of these extremely lucrative expeditions. Round the world enthusiasts will create pressure on cabin availability when this route returns, because there will be a backlog of three years anticipation
